Dev Log: Early Build Release


Hello everyone!

I'm excited to share the early build of my project, Defend the Buttons! After a lot of learning, tweaking, and debugging, the game is ready for its first release. Here's what you can expect in this version:

What's in this build?

Core Mechanics:

  • Take control of a turret on the space railway to defend important buttons from waves of incoming threats.
  • Strategic turret movement along the railway to adjust your positioning and defend all sides.

Cutscene Intro:

  • A dynamic intro scene sets the tone, introducing you to the game's world and the Engineer—a character who brings life to the narrative.

Progression:

  • An EXP system is in place, giving you a sense of progression as you destroy incoming threats.
  • While the upgrade system isn’t implemented yet, future updates will bring exciting ways to improve your turret’s abilities!

Gameplay:

  • Simple, fun mechanics with sound effects, animations, and increasing waves of difficulty to keep you engaged.


What's next?

Future updates will include:

  • Upgrade Options: Spend your EXP to unlock faster fire rates, better accuracy, or turret enhancements.
  • New Challenges: Additional threat types and mechanics to keep the game fresh.
  • Refined Visuals: Improvements to the UI and more dynamic animations.
